The Classical Walk

Let’s explore Amsterdam together — step by step, story by story.

Step into a lesser-known part of Amsterdam and discover its layered history, peaceful green spaces, and hidden stories. Your walk will take you through monuments and sites linked to the Jewish community and the Dutch East India Company. Along the way, you’ll encounter former shipyards, converted warehouses, charming working-class neighborhoods, and art in unexpected places.

We move slowly and attentively — activating all senses — taking in our surroundings and reflecting on what resonates most. The tour concludes in Agnès’s studio, where you’re invited to relax or participate in a hands-on workshop, creating an artwork inspired by the walk.

Biking in Amsterdam North + Studio Visit

Hop on a bike and explore the vibrant, artistic north side of the IJ River.

Cross the IJ River by ferry and discover the creative energy of Amsterdam North. Pedal through the transformed NDSM shipyard, now a lively hub for street art, studios, and galleries. Follow your guide along routes lined with vintage shops, innovative circular architecture, floating neighborhoods, and green eco-initiatives like De Ceuvel.

The journey ends at Agnès’s studio, where you can unwind with a drink and some snacks while taking in the atmosphere of her creative space.

The Bastion Revisited – Maritime Amsterdam

For centuries closed to the public, the Royal Navy grounds in Amsterdam are now open — offering a unique chance to delve into the rich maritime history of the Netherlands.

You’ll visit the beautifully restored Naval Museum (formerly the Arsenal of the East India Company), board a replica 18th-century ship, and see collections of maps, marine art, ship models, cannons, and royal vessels.

Feel like a sailor, a captain — even a member of the royal family — as we dive into stories of trade, conquest, and exploration.

After the visit, we’ll enjoy a cozy Dutch afternoon tea in a hidden enclave to reflect on times past.
